Replacing a bent or damaged mixing shaft will increase mechanical seal life
We recommend inspection after each use. Grooves and/or a bent shaft will cause the unit to vibrate, putting stress on your tanks and leading to premature seal wear in the mixer. The ease that the Guth's provide in changing out the shaft, having multiple shafts of various lengths would allow you to use your Guth with multiple tank sizes. The length of shaft you need is roughly 40-60% the diameter of your tank.
