Robert "Alex" Scott

President

Alex is part of the third generation of his family involved with Scott Laboratories and has a specialized emphasis in Cork and Packaging. Alex gained firsthand knowledge of the cork market from his time with Corval Ltd. in Portugal and is fluent in both Spanish and Portuguese.

He graduated from Tulane University in 2002 with degrees in both Latin American Studies and Spanish. Alex then went on to receive his Master of Business Administration at Loyola University New Orleans in International Business in 2004, where he was a Dean's Honor Award winner. He has also spent time abroad at Universidad de Buenos Aires and Universidad de la Habana.

Prior to joining Scott Labs in 2005, Alex worked at the Departamento Comercial of the Embassy of Uruguay in Washington DC and with the Office of Economic Development at the City of New Orleans. Alex is certified as an ISO 9001:2008 Internal Auditor for Scott Labs.

Zachary Scott

CEO

Zack joins Alex as the third generation of the Scott family. He graduated from University of California at Los Angeles Magna Cum Laude in International Economics with a Minor in Latin American Studies in 2003. At UCLA, he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.

Prior to joining Scott Laboratories in 2003, Zack built his experience in the wine industry at Gloria Ferrer Winery and ICAS, SpA, the global leader in wirehood (muselet) production. He has firsthand experience with crush equipment, filtration, sanitation and other cellar operations, as well as production and quality control of wirehoods. Zack is fluent in Italian and can converse in Spanish.

Max Levine

COO

Max joined Scott Laboratories in 2017, bringing with him valuable experience in business strategy implementation, technology consulting, and supply chain management.

After graduating from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Max began his wine industry career as a Supply Chain Specialist at a cork supply company. During his time there, he was promoted to Operational Excellence Manager, ensuring day-to-day operations were smooth and seamless for both customers and employees. After five years in the wine industry, Max switched gears and went to work for Microsoft as an ERP Consultant. In this role, he assisted companies with planning and implementation of ERP systems to streamline business processes. Eager to get back into the wine industry, Max is excited to join the Scott Labs’ team and utilize his strategy and management experience.

When Max isn’t engrossed in spreadsheets, he enjoys spending time with his wife, their twin daughters, and yellow lab, Lucy. 

Damon Dudley

General Manager, Process Technology

A wine industry veteran of more than 28 years, Damon has a wide range of winemaking experience covering harvest to bottle. In 2006, Damon took on the challenge of managing the winemaking and operational aspects of a custom crush facility, which led to implementing and managing ongoing winemaking operations for Mobile Filtration Services. After accumulating extensive filtration knowledge, in 2011 Damon assumed the responsibilities of Technical Sales, Project Management and Technical Supervisor for a large international equipment manufacturer covering the wine, beer and cider industry. Damon is a long-time, passionate Dodgers fan. He likes to spend his spare time with his wife, driving their RV to the coast and enjoying the ocean breeze.

Margaret Karrer

Inside Technical Sales Manager

Margaret is celebrating 36 years with Scott Laboratories. Prior to joining Scott Labs in 1981, she earned a BS degree in Biology from UC Davis. Margaret manages the fermentation, cellar, and filtration sectors for Scott. She works closely with suppliers, gaining extensive knowledge of the products, handling them from purchasing and importing all the way to providing technical support to winemakers.

Chris Holman

General Manager, Packaging

Chris has been in the wine industry for over 20 years. He began his career at St. Supery as the bottling manager, where he worked with many custom contracts for bottling. His time there helped cultivate an in-depth knowledge of bottling and packaging. Chris later moved to The Hess Collection Winery, where he acted as the Vice President of Production. Before coming to Scott Labs in 2013, he served as Director of Operations for Gundlach Bundschu. Cycling is a big passion of Chris’, now that the years of baseball and ice Hockey have taken their toll on the knees.
